Ethics and Tactics of Co-design
partnered with THE Center of Teaching and Learning
This project aimed to assist the Center of Teaching and Learning (CTL) in enhancing communication with faculty and providing them with practical tools. Our team (Me, Mallory Huang, and Sara Cui) collaborated with the Center of Teaching and Learning (CTL) team—Judit Török, Maura Conley, and Holly Adams—to help promote effective communication and increase engagement with faculty. Our recommendations are guided by two core questions: how CTL can better represent itself as a faculty partner and how to empower faculty with diverse resources. Through a series of collaborative sessions, we developed five key focus areas for our proposals: visibility and awareness, representation, messaging and marketing, faculty engagement and support, and relationship and community building.

Our Community Portrait mini installation
Our Community Portrait is a project that explores the "Self-Other Gap," a phenomenon where individuals feel lonely even in a crowd. By inviting participants to observe themselves in a mirror and create a self-portrait using tracing paper, the installation encourages reflection on how people perceive themselves versus how they wish to be seen. Participants can draw, mark, or add textures to express their envisioned identity, then pin their portraits on a communal wall. The growing collection fosters a sense of belonging, allowing individuals to be perceived as they choose while providing a visual representation of the community's diversity. The installation requires basic art supplies and a mirror, offering a simple yet powerful way to connect and reflect.

A Journey Into Intimacy
I designed a cultural probe booklet to explore how people feel about discussing intimacy and breaking through common reservations. The booklet includes a series of thoughtful and provocative questions aimed at opening up conversations around personal experiences, trauma, and preferences related to sex and pleasure. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their boundaries, comfort levels, and expectations during sexual encounters. The process also features a workshop and interactive games, like tic-tac-toe, to create a safe and approachable environment for discussing these sensitive topics.
